Dear Mitch:
Larimer County, SH 287
ME -HE Glass & Screen
920 N. College Avenue
Fort Collins
We have reviewed the ME -HE Glass and Screen proposal, and offer the following comments:
RIGHT-OF-WAY Right-of-way (ROW) has not been addressed by this proposal. Projected traffic along this
portion of State Highway (SH) 287 indicates the need for a 120' total ROW, 60' each side of the state
highway centerline. Additional width to meet the projected need should be protected by reservation or,
preferably, dedication as permitted dedication as permitted by City regulations.
ACCESS Traffic volumes generated by this change have not been addressed. -If an increase of more than 20%
will.result, from this change, the Department would have the opportunity and obligation to re-evaluate
access.fo .bring the accesses into conformance with the State Highway Access Code (SHACode).
.Access in conformance with the SHACode would require that a single access be provided to this
development instead of the existing separate in and out access configuration.
Any change of access will require the issuance of an access permit to be obtained from the City.
DRAINAGE Be informed that changes on the site shall not increase the rate of surface run-off beyond that
which as historically been accepted.
UTILITIES If any new utility lines or connections are necessary within the state highway ROW, a utility
permit will be required. Prior to such utility work, please contact Mr. Henry Rangel of the Department at
(970) 350-2111.
Our comments are based upon the submittal as received January 26, 1996.
