Hi. I thought the pond that we have on the west side of Seneca in Westfield Park was not a detention
pond for stormwater. We plan on having a water level in our ponds even with the culverts under Seneca
so we do not have stagnant water in our pond. Storm water could pond up on the embankment of Seneca
in a large event, which happens all the time on park property. The park was constructed last year. If there
needs to be changes on the park property for stromwater reasons, please keep us in the loop. Thanks
Craig

George Hart from Progressive Living Structures is planning on submitting for Mountain Ridge Farm, 2nd
Filing. He is in a mild state of concern because Stormwater needs to conduct new basin modeling to
determine the size of the culverts under Seneca.
George does not believe that Stormwater can do this work (or its consultants) in a timely manner to beat
the January 17, 2000 deadline under the Transition Ordinance which would keep the project valid as a
P.U.D. versus a project under the new Land Use Code.
Frankly, I find this hard to believe. For example, we now know that Council approved the 3.67 inches
rainfall amount for design purposes. Now, how difficult is it to conduct the new analysis and size the
culverts accordingly. Will this take 9 months?
In other words, Bob Blanchard and I are not real keen at this point on granting this project an extension.
Janet, here is where you come in. George mentioned to me that there is contemplated to be a new
detention pond in Westfield Park that will help reduce the size of the culverts under Seneca.
What does he mean "new pond"? I thought Parks Planning was pretty far along on design on Westfield.
Before Bob and I can sound intelligent on this extension request, we need to be brought up to speed on
what's going on out there with Stormwater and Parks and Rec.
Thanks in advance for responding, Ted.
