ONE May 13, 1992 Mr. Steve Olt, Planner City of Fort Collins Planning Department P.O. Box 580 Fort Collins, CO 80522 RE: Little Caesars P.U.D. Existing Landscaping/Vegitation Dear Steve, I met with Tim Buchanan, City Forester, at the above referenced project site yesterday to determine if any of the existing trees on the site should be saved and incorporated into the final landscape plan. We also reviewed the architectural survey of the site and the proposed landscape plan which was submitted for preliminary P.U.D. review. The following comments summarize Tim's findings at the site: A. The majority of the existing trees on the site are Siberian Elms and are not of a size or character (shape) nor in desirable locations to warrant preservation. B. The top half of the crown of the existing Maple tree is dead and does not warrant preservation. C. The 12 foot high spruce tree on the northwest corner of the site is drooping and is not in a desirable location for traffic visibility at the intersection of Horsetooth and Mitchell. D. The mature trees within the 30 foot ditch easement along the south edge of the site should be preserved and maintained as shown on the Landscape plan. 150 EAST 29TH STREET PALMER GARDENS, SUITE 200 LOVELAND, COLORADO 80538 303/669-9060 FACSIMILE 303/669-9066 In summary, Tim felt that the proposed Landscape Plan offered an acceptable alternative to preserving any of the existing trees on the site, due to their location, size, character and species. He suggested that as a compromise to preserving some existing trees that the Hackberry street trees along Horsetooth Road be increased to 3 inches in caliper. Should you have any further questions regarding the decisions reached at our site visit, please call Tim or myself. Si rely, Alan Hause , ARchitect Architecture One, P.C.
