Suite 101

Dear Mr. Robinson:
This is written as a follow up to your engineer's (Mr. Fritz Jackson) meeting
with Ralph Finch and Bob Patrick of our office concerning the locations and width
of frontage roads through Evergreen Park. The Division is in agreement with
Mr. Jackson's proposal of a 50-foot wide right of way for the frontage roads.
A frontage road is to be adjacent to the south boundary line of the proposed
expressway and is to run the full length of the development. Another is to
be adjacent to the north boundary line of the expressway, running from Redwood
west to College Avenue.
The following is written to reply to your letter of January 20, 1977. The
7 Division realizes the position of D. C. Miller and Company with its need to
begin obtaining revenues from its investment in the land in this area. I am
sure you realize the Division's position in trying to reduce the social/economical
impact the proposed expressway would have on individuals/firms who would have
invested in properties within the proposed rights of way.
The Division recognizes its responsibility to provide access to the southern
portion of your property from both North College Avenue and Lemay. The above
reservations will aid in providing such.
The Division has made its position clear, I am sure, as to the possibility
of a grade separation at Redwood. We feel that with accesses to the properties
from the north, south, east, and west and with a proposed interchange at North
College Avenue, the grade separation over Redwood would not be necessary.
Also, to reiterate, the Division has no firm timetable for acquisition of
right of way or construction of the proposed expressway in this area.
Very truly yours,
DWIGHT M. BOWER
