Dear Troy,
We would like to request an Alternative Compliance for the parking lot perimeter
landscaping. In section 3.2.1(E)4a, it states that 1 tree must be planted for every
forty (40) feet along a side lot line parking setback area. We are of the opinion
that our plan is equal to or better than the required standards of this section. The
plan that we are proposing preserves and incorporates existing vegetation in
excess of minimum standards, it also will maximize the future tree canopy and
better the overall branching structure of the existing and proposed trees. We
accomplish this by not planting new trees directly under the existing trees and
damaging their root systems and allowing the existing and proposed trees a
greater opportunity to reach mature growth characteristics.
We hope that after careful review of this letter and plan, that you will approve this
request.
