Below is the recommendation for pool calculations we received from Abbye.
S Total volume (make sure what units it is in are converted to gallons)
S Number of times expected to fill and drain each year ANNUAL
BACKWASH
Total Volume
Needed (gallons)AC FT 0.196$
S (Total Volume)*Number of times for refill = Volume of water for pool 0 0 0.00000 -$
0 0 0.00000 -$
0 0.00000 -$
Example:
An average is highly dependent on the size of the pool but let’s say we take a pool size of 15 feet by 30 feet that has a universal depth of 5 feet an estimate would be:
Volume of sized pool: 15ft*30ft*5ft = 2,250 ft^3 or 16,831 gallons or 0.05 acre feet
Assume drain and clean twice a year = 0.05 acre feet *2 = 0.10 acre feet
Another helpful way to look at it is a pool of 5 AF would equate to about 1,629,600 gallons (for reference an Olympic sized swimming pool, which is very large, holds about 500,000 gallons of water).

In case by case situations, an engineered estimate is
provided by the customer. Jen Dial will review and decide
if the estimate is acceptable. Utility Fees will use the
annual water use approved by Jen for final fees. Can
ESTIMATE off any number provided by the customer, but
it is an estimate only .

Indoor WSR - based on Business Type. If various portions of a property are used for separate uses, the WSR shall be calculated separately and aggregated to determine the entire WSR for the property. In certain
situations an engineered estimate will be required per Section 126-149(c).
Special Circumstances - Alternative Compliance Request: Applicants seeking a reduced WSR can request an alternative compliance from the table below provided information that confirms (1) the reduced WSR is
20% less than the WSR that is calculated under this table (2) a reduced WSR is appropriate based on all known facts (3) the reduced WSR does not adversely affect the water utility.
Engineered Estimates Pursuant to Code Section 126-149(c): the WSR will be based on the peak annual water use as determined by the Utilities Executive Director. The applicant is required to provide an estimated
peak annual water use and supporting information (e.g., engineered estimate, water use from another similar development in another location).
