1.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROTECT ALL EXISTING
FEATURES THAT ARE NOT TO BE REMOVED ADJACENT
TO THE CONSTRUCTION AREA INCLUDING, BUT NOT
LIMITED TO, PAVEMENT, PRIVATE FENCES, ABOVE

2.ALL WATERLINE CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE PER FORT
COLLINS LOVELAND WATER DISTRICT STANDARD
CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS, LATEST EDITION.
3.MINIMUM DEPTH OF COVER OVER WATER MAINS SHALL
BE 5'. MAXIMUM COVER SHALL BE 6' UNLESS
OTHERWISE NOTED ON THESE DRAWINGS.
4.24" & 30" PVC WATER LINES SHALL BE C900 PRESSURE
CLASS 125 PVC PIPE. ALL DIP WATER LINES SHALL BE
THICKNESS CLASS 53.
5.MAINTAIN 10' HORIZONTAL AND 18" VERTICAL MINIMUM
SEPARATION BETWEEN ALL SANITARY SEWER &
WATER MAINS & SERVICES. SHOULD THE WATER LINE
CROSS UNDER EITHER STORM DRAIN OR SANITARY
SEWER, THE STORM OR SANITARY SHALL BE
CONCRETE ENCASED FOR 10' ON EITHER SIDE OF THE
CROSSING.
6.BENDS AND FITTINGS ON ALL NEW WATER MAIN
(EXCEPT WHERE CONNECTING TO EXISTING MAINS)
SHALL USE MECHANICALLY RESTRAINED JOINTS PER
FORT COLLINS-LOVELAND WATER DISTRICT
STANDARDS AND SPECIFIED LENGTHS. ALL FIRE
HYDRANT LEADS AND FIRE SERVICES TO BUILDINGS
SHALL BE INSTALLED WITH JOINT RESTRAINTS PER
THE SAME REQUIREMENTS. WET TAP LOCATIONS
SHALL BE INSTALLED WITH THRUST BLOCKS.
7.WHERE RESTRAINED JOINTS FOR HORIZONTAL AND
VERTICAL FITTINGS OVERLAP RESTRAINTS SHALL BE
EXTENDED USING THE LONGEST LENGTH.
8.BACKFLOW PREVENTION FOR WATER SERVICES SHALL
BE PROVIDED WITHIN EACH BUILDING AND NO
CONNECTIONS TO THE WATER SERVICES (INCLUDING
IRRIGATION TAPS) SHALL BE MADE PRIOR TO THE
BACKFLOW PREVENTION DEVICE.
9.ALL BURIED PVC PIPING HAS BEEN DESIGNED TO A
WORKING PRESSURE OF 110 psi. THIS IS BASED ON
FULL WATER TANK CONDITIONS AT THE TRILBY TANKS
AND INCLUDES AN ADDITIONAL 50 psi SAFETY FACTOR
ALLOWANCE. BURIED PVC PIPING AS NOT BEEN
DESIGNED TO A 'DEAD HEAD' TAFT HILL PUMP STATION
PUMPING CONDITION WITH SUCTION PRESSURES
GENERATED BY FOOTHILLS TANK (APPROX. 185 psi).
10.ALL BURIED PIPING TO BE INSTALLED IN TYPE 5
TRENCH WITH FULLY BEDDED STRUCTURAL BACKFILL
TO PIPE CROWN (DIP AND PVC)
11.LIMIT PIPE JOINT DEFLECTION TO 80% (MAX.) OF
MANUFACTURERS MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE.
