MEMORANDUM
TO: Planning and Zoning Board

RE: Amendment to the Sign Code fot'Nejg borhood Commercial Areas
This evening you will be considering certain amendments to the Sign Code at is applies to
commercial uses in predominantly residential areas. As we discussed at last Friday's work
session, it is staffs recommendation that you only take public comment at tonight's meeting, and
table making a decision until your August 24, 1992 meeting. This delay will allow for the
Board to meet in work session to discuss with staff the details of the proposal before you make
a final recommendation to City Council.
Also, staff would like your approval to meet in work session on Wednesday, August 19th from
4:00 to 6:00 pm. to discuss the proposed amendments to the Sign Code. This meeting will be
held in the 281 Conference Room, 281 N. College Avenue. Snacks will be provided.

RE: Signs in Neighborhood Commercial Areas Project
Dear Mr. Peterson:
Please let this act as my formal request that we delay the
proposed code changes on the above referenced project for a
little while while we address some concerns as it relates to
the most recent draft of these code changes .
I will be out of town next week and will miss the Planning
and Zoning Board Meeting. I will appreciate your expressing
these wishes to the board by distributing a copy of this let-
ter to them.
