RE: Concerns about Wal-Mart Proposal
The Natural Resources Advisory Board would like to comment on the Mulberry-Lemay Crossings
development proposal(Wal-Mart). The NRAB is an advisory board to City Council and as such does not
have formal jurisdiction in this matter, however because of the magnitude of the project and the level of
community concern,we wanted to express our concerns directly to the Planning&Zoning Board as you
consider this matter.
The Board would like to raise the following concerns about impacts this proposal may have on natural
resources and related issues. Concerns we would like to raise include:
• Water quality impacts to the Poudre River from stormwater runoff from the site.
• Floodplain development impact, including fiscal impacts of increased transportation infrastructure.
• Impact to wildlife populations in the Poudre River corridor from traffic, noise, lighting, and other
disturbances.
• Additional traffic concerns, such as air quality impact and limited access to alternative transportation
modes.
• Project scale and impact considering the proximity to the Poudre River.
• Visual impacts on Poudre River corridor users.
We appreciate your serious consideration of these concerns.
