Snow Ridge Apartments PDP – The intersection of South
Shields between Prospect Rd. and Bennet Rd.
Existing Tree Removal Feasibility Letter
This letter is intended to supplement the Mitigation Plan included in the Snow Ridge Apartments plan
submittal. There are thirteen (13) species of trees on site including: Ash, Silver Maple, Honey Locust,
Crab Apple, Cottonwood, Siberian Elm, Apple, American Elm, Hackberry, Ponderosa Pine, Blue Spruce,
Rock Elm, and Box Elder.
As depicted on the mitigation plan, a total of eighteen (18) trees are to be removed. The reason for tree
removal is due to the proposed development of Snow Ridge Apartments. The following trees are
proposed to be removed: Tree #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #7, #9, #11, #12, #13, #14, #15, #16, #17, #19, #20,
and #21 (as associated with the Tree Mitigation List on the Tree Mitigation Plan of this submittal).
Further explanation for the removal of these trees is found below.
Tree #
1. An Ash is to be removed due to site plan conflicts with proposed drive.
2. A Silver Maple is to be removed due to site plan conflicts with proposed d rive.
3. A Silver Maple is to be removed due to site plan conflicts with proposed drive.
4. A Honey Locust is to be removed due to site plan conflicts with proposed drive.
5. A Crabapple is to be removed due site plan conflicts with proposed drive.
6. A Cottonwood is to be removed due to site plan conflicts with proposed drive and multi-
family building footprint.
7. A Siberian Elm is to be removed due to site plan conflicts with proposed parking.
8. A Siberian Elm is to be removed due to site plan conflicts with 50% of the critical root
zone being impacted by parking and it is poor condition.
9. An Apple is to be removed due to site plan conflicts with proposed parking.

11. A Cottonwood is to be removed due to site plan conflicts with proposed multi-family
building footprint.
12. A Hackberry is to be removed due to site plan conflicts with proposed multi-family
building footprint.
13. A Ponderosa Pine is to be removed due to site plan conflicts with proposed multi-family
building footprint.
14. A Blue Spruce is to be removed due to site plan conflicts with proposed multi-family
building footprint.
15. A Crabapple is to be removed due to site plan conflicts with proposed multi-family
building footprint.
16. A Hackberry is to be removed due to site plan conflict with proposed multi-family
building footprint.
17. A Hackberry is to be removed due to site plan conflict with proposed multi-family
building footprint.
19. A Box Elder Maple is to be removed due to site plan conflict with proposed multi-family
building footprint and poor condition.
20. A Siberian Elm Cluster is to be removed due to poor condition.
21. A Siberian Elm Cluster is to be removed due to poor condition.
A more detailed depiction of the location of trees which are being removed in relation to the proposed
site plan can be found on the Mitigation Plan included in this submittal. To mitigate for the removed
trees which have been deemed to provide significant value by the City Forester, cash in lieu will be
provided on top of replacement trees at the increased size per Division 3.2.1 (F)(1) of the Fort Collins
Land Use Code.
