Ms Gwen Bell, Chairperson
Planning & Zoning Board
City of Fort Collins
P.O. Box 580
Fort Collins, CO 80522-0580
Dear Ms Bell:
CJ
Early in the morning of March 25 the Planning Zoning Board
unanimously approved the Miramont Self Storage proposal, and
the residents of Fairway Estates are very appreciative of
that decision. This development will not only serve a need
in the area but will also provide a quiet, attractive buffer
for our residential community from the heavy commercial use
to the east. It is very gratifying to know that citizen in-
put does sometimes influence development decisions.
We surely hope the property between these self storage units
and Harmony Road (along Boardwalk) will also be developed in
a way to provide us with additional buffering from Harmony
Market. A portion of this area is also covered by the legal
document I referred to at the 3/24-25 P& Z meeting. This
document is titled: OAK FARM- Amended and Restated Declara-
tion of Establishment of Protective Covenants. It limits
what may be built on the parcels of land covered by the docu-
ment. Steve Burkett, the City Manager at that time (January,
1990) signed for the City. It would behoove the Planning
staff to review this document, and to work more closely with
adjacent residential neighborhoods when development is plan-
ned in this area.
Thank you again for listening to us and for rendering the de-
cision that we requested.
Sincerely yours,
