PLANT SCHEDULE
DOCUMENT REVISION DATE: JULY 2013LEGEND
L1.1 FINAL LANDSCAPE PLANTREE REMOVAL NOTE:
NO TREES SHALL BE REMOVED DURING THE SONGBIRD NESTING SEASON
(FEBRUARY 1 TO JULY 31) WITHOUT FIRST HAVING A PROFESSIONAL
ECOLOGIST OR WILDLIFE BIOLOGIST COMPLETE A NESTING SURVEY TO
IDENTIFY ANY ACTIVE NESTS EXISTING ON THE PROJECT SITE. THE
SURVEY SHALL BE SENT TO THE CITY ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNER. IF
ACTIVE NESTS ARE FOUND, THE CITY WILL COORDINATE WITH RELEVANT
STATE AND FEDERAL REPRESENTATIVES TO DETERMINE WHETHER
ADDITIONAL RESTRICTIONS ON TREE REMOVAL AND CONSTRUCTION
APPLY.
LANDSCAPE-UTILITY SEPARATION:
NO TREES SHALL BE PLANTED WITHIN 10 FEET OF WATER AND SEWER
MAINS OR WITHIN 6 FEET OF SERVICE LINES. NO SHRUBS SHALL BE
PLANTED WITHIN 4 FEET OF WATER AND SEWER MAINS OR SERVICE
LINES.
35
A PERMIT MUST BE OBTAINED FROM THE CITY FORESTER BEFORE ANY TREES OR
SHRUBS AS NOTED ON THIS PLAN ARE PLANTED, PRUNED OR REMOVED IN THE PUBLIC
RIGHT-OF-WAY. THIS INCLUDES ZONES BETWEEN THE SIDEWALK AND CURB, MEDIANS
AND OTHER CITY PROPERTY. THIS PERMIT SHALL APPROVE THE LOCATION AND
SPECIES TO BE PLANTED. FAILURE TO OBTAIN THIS PERMIT IS A VIOLATION OF THE CITY
OF FORT COLLINS CODE SUBJECT TO CITATION (SECTION 27-31) AND MAY ALSO RESULT
IN REPLACING OR RELOCATING TREES AND A HOLD ON CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY.
NOTES:
TREES SHOULD BE PLANTED WITH THE ROOT FLAIR AN INCH OR TWO
ABOVE FINAL GRADE. IN ADDITION TO THIS, TREES NEED TO BE MULCHED
WITH A MULCH RING THAT IS 4-6' IN DIAMETER AND 2-4" DEEP.
CRITICAL ROOT ZONE (CRZ) IS ASSUMED TO BE A MINIMUM OF 24" BELOW
GRADE FOR ALL TREES. CRZ IS SHOWN ON PLAN AT 12" DIA PER 1" TRUNK
CALIPER.
PLANT SCHEDULE TABLE NOTES:
"CODE PQ/XQ" IN THE TABLE REFERS TO THE PROPOSED QUANTITY/EXISTING QUANTITY OF THE SPECIFIC PLANTING.
