The Stormwater Utility has recently started a pilot program to help
improve our development review process.. There are two major changes
being tested; we will be using a private engineering consultant on. a
limited basis to help us with the review of drainage submittals and we
have developed a comprehensive checklist to try to improve
communications. We hope to gain information on how this can help us be
more timely in our reviews as well as how much it will cost us to do this
on a long term basis.
We see a lot of positive benefits from using an outside consultant to
assist us in development review, however, it is expensive. In order for
us to be able to continue with this program it is very important that we
get complete submittals for review. This will reduce the cost of review
as well as the number of reviews that need to be done. We will be
screening new submittals carefully for completeness and we may need to
return submittals for additional work prior to reviewing them.
Your project, Castle Ridge at Miramont 1st Filing, has been selected to
be reviewed by our outside consultant. You will not be required to deal
directly with the Consultant. Any questions you have on the attached
comments should be directed to me. However, we would like your feedback
on this program. For instance, was the review- completed in a timely
manner? Were the comments complete? Were -the number of resubmittals
reduced because of a more complete initial review? Any comments on the
process or the check list?
