Dear Ted,
We understand that there is a proposed project for an auto lubrication and car wash
facility to be located on the northwest corner of Lemay Avenue and OaWtidge Drive.
This site of course is directly north of our church.
We axo very disappointed with this proposal and feel that a facility such, as this would
be totally inappropriate for this location. When the church first purchased this land
8md built its facility at the southwest corner of Lemay Avenue and OakRidge Drive, all
of the property to the north and the west was designated for residential development,
Which was the most compatible usage to a church site. When the property to the
north was developed for pace, Builders Square and Steele's Market, the mastor plan
indicated that there would be office buildings on the site that is now being
considered for the car wash and auto lubrication facility.., A small office site was not
our first preference, however, it was at least acceptable for a neighbor. To move
from that use to what must be considered a drastically lesser use, with reference to
the car wash/auto lube shop, is totally incompatible. Not only do we believe that the
facility is a detriment to the value of our property and its asthetic appeal, we also feel
that a car wash and auto lubricationx facility is totally out of character with what has
been developed up and down Lemay Avenue from as far north as Prospect Road. It
must be.mentioned that the architecture and image of a church is associated with
words such as family, warmth, peace, harmony, etc:, and an auto lube and car wash
facility can only be associated with antonyms to these words.
