There are 6 species of trees on site including: Siberian elm, ponderosa pine, narrowleaf cottonwood, blue spruce, chokecherry, and box elder. As depicted on the mitigation plan, a total of 3 trees are to be removed and 27 to remain or be transplanted. The reason for tree removal is due to the proposed development of Seven Generations Multifamily. The following trees are proposed to be removed: Tree #8, #21, and #23 (as associated with the Tree Mitigation List on the Tree Mitigation Plan). Further explanation for the removal of these trees is found below. Tree #8 is a blue spruce in fair condition to be removed due to bore infestation. Tree #21 is a blue spruce in poor condition to be removed due to bore infestation. Tree #23 is a box elder in fair condition to be removed due to being overgrown in a parking lot landscape island/ in order to select a more appropriate species for this location. A more detailed depiction of the location of trees which are being removed in relation to the proposed site plan can be found on the Mitigation Plan included in this submittal. To mitigate for the removed trees which have been deemed to provide significant value by the City Forester, replacement trees will be provided at the increased size per Division 3.2.1 (F)(1) of the Fort Collins Land Use Code.
