Existing Tree Removal Feasibility Letter
This letter is intended to supplement the Mitigation Plan included in the Jerome Street Townhomes
Project Development Plan submittal. There are ten (10) species of trees on site including: bur oak,
crabapple, chinkapin oak, honey locust, Siberian elm, cottonwood, ash, elm, crack willow, and juniper.
As depicted on the mitigation plan, a total of two (2) trees are to be removed and one-hundred and
twenty-six (126) to remain or transplanted. The reason for tree removal is due to the proposed
development of Jerome Street Townhomes. The following trees are proposed to be removed: Tree #7
and #9 (as associated with the Tree Mitigation List on the Tree Mitigation Plan). Further explanation for
the removal of these trees is found below.
Tree #
7. A Siberian elm in fair- condition to be removed due to site development conflicts with proposed
sidewalk.
9. A Siberian elm in fair- condition to be removed due to site development conflicts with proposed
building #9.
75. An Ash in fair- condition to be removed as recent site visits have indicated it is either dead or
dying.
76. A cotton wood group in fair to poor condition to be removed due to hazardous conditions
A more detailed depiction of the location of trees which are being removed in relation to the proposed
site plan can be found on the Mitigation Plan included in this submittal. To mitigate for the removed
trees which have been deemed to provide significant value by the City Forester, replacement trees will
be provided at the increased size per Division 3.2.1 (F)(1) of the Fort Collins Land Use Code.
