Dear Gentlemen:
Our records, as well as my personal recollection, indicate that you have
participated in the public review process of the Builders Square at Harmony
Market, Filing Two, Final P.U.D. This participation includes attending the
neighborhood information meeting of May 31, 1990 and attending the formal
Planning and Zoning Board hearing of July 23, 1990.
Because of this interest, please be informed that Bui'durs Square has applied to
the City of Fort Collins Planning Department for an administrative change to
increase the height of the sign letters on the front (north) elevation from three
feet to four feet for an increase of 86 total square feet.
As an administrative change, the request is considered minor in scope. However,
due to the level on citizen interest on this project, the request has been
forwarded to the Planning and Zoning Board for action. As with any action by the
Planning and Zoning Board, the decision is eligible to be appealed to City
Council .
The Planning and Zoning Board hearing is scheduled for Monday, June 24, 1991 6:30
p.m. , City Council Chambers. The item is placed last on the agenda under "Other
Business". If, due to the lateness of the hour, the P & Z Board elects to
continue the hearing, the continued date will be Monday, July 1, 1991, at 6:30
p.m. , City Council Chambers.
As you are well aware, the Harmony Market P.U.D. and Builders Square generated
considerable public interest. The .citizen participation process during the
P.U.D. review period revealed many substantial neighborhood concerns. By
approving the project, the Planning and Zoning Board believed most of these
concerns were successfully mitigated. Your input on this latest request would
be of benefit to the Planning and Zoning Board as they deliberate the pros and
cons of increasing the allowable signage. By living in an adjacent neighborhood,
your evaluation of the project, and its impact, may provide an important
ingredient in the public debate.
