The Storm G crossing in question is shown at Point A in the exhibit below. The crossing features
greater (15.2") than the generally accepted 12" minimum cover over smaller diameter RCP.
The Lake Canal Box Culvert (RCB) is shown at Point B in the exhibit below. The precast RCB will be
designed to meet AASHTO M 273 specifications, or equivalent ASTM Standard C 1433, for vehicle
traffic, to allow for less than 2-feet of cover on top.
We are requesting an alternative in the minimum cover requirement at these two locations for the
depths described above: 15" at Point A, and 11" at Point B.
