HomeMy WebLinkAboutARAPAHOE FARM TOWNHOMES PUD - FINAL - 55-87K - CORRESPONDENCE - APPEAL TO CITY COUNCIL Commity Planning and Environmentairvices Planning Department City 5:. of Fort Collins May 11, 1994 Mr. Jim Postle The James Company c/o Cityscape Urban Design 3555 Stanford Road, Suite 105 Fort Collins, CO 80525 RE: Arapahoe Farm Townhomes - Action of the City Council Dear Eldon: On Tuesday, May 10, 1994, the City Council of the City of Fort Collins considered an appeal of the Planning and Zoning Board approval (March 28, 1994) of Arapahoe Farm Townhomes, Final P.U.D. The City Council voted to uphold the decision of the Planning and Zoning Board, subject to two modifications. These two modifications are summarized as follows: 1. The landscape plan shall be modified to add mature evergreen trees to the easterly buffer area. 2. Neighborhood compatibility shall be achieved by additional building materials, in particular, the roof shingles should be modified so that the roofing is more compatible with the surrounding neighborhood. This does not mean cedar shakes but other products that have a better fire rating than cedar shakes. The developer will present the selected roofing • product to the City for evaluation. The City's Chief Building Official , Fire Marshal , and Planning Director will decide on the suitability of the selected product to see if it meets the test of. compatibility. It is anticipated that the appellants will be informed of the City's decision prior to the consideration of the Resolution on Findings of the Appeal of Arapahoe Farm Townhomes, Final P.U.D. These two modifications are to be included in the Final documents in addition to the conditions of Final approval as set by the Planning and Zoning Board on March 28, 1994 and noted in a letter from the Planning Department dated March 29, 1994.
