There are twenty (20) species of trees on site including: Honeylocust, Ash, Silver Maple, Linden, Russian Olive, Blue Spruce, Autumn Purple Ash, Autumn Blaze Maple, Cottonwood, Austrian Pine, Plum, Lilac, Buckeye, Crabapple, Juniper, Scotch Pine, Ponderosa Pine, Bur Oak, Hackberry, and Siberian Elm. As depicted on the mitigation plan, a total of thirty-four (34) trees are to be removed and forty- nine (49) to remain or be transplanted. The reason for tree removal is due to the proposed development of the Impala Redevelopment. The following trees are proposed to be removed: Tree #1, #2, etc... (as associated with the Tree Mitigation List on the Tree Mitigation Plan). Further explanation for the removal of these trees is found below. Tree #: 1 A Honey locust in fair condition to be removed due to proposed parking lot. 2 An Ash in fair condition to be removed due to a proposed building. 3 A Honey locust in fair + condition to be removed due to a proposed building. 4 A Silver Maple in fair condition to be removed due to a proposed building. 5 A Linden in fair condition to be removed due to a proposed parking lot. 6 An Ash in fair condition to be removed due to a proposed building. 7 A Russian Olive in poor condition to be removed due to a proposed building. 8 A Blue Spruce in fair+ condition to be removed due to proposed parking lot. 9 An Autumn Purple Ash in fair- condition to be removed due to a proposed parking lot. 10 An Autumn Blaze Maple in fair + condition to be removed due to a proposed parking lot. 11 A Cottonwood in fair+ condition to be removed due to a proposed building. 12 An Austrian Pine in fair+ condition to be removed due to site plan conflict with proposed amenity area. To mitigate for the removed trees which have been deemed to provide significant value by the City Forester, replacement trees will be provided at the increased size per Division 3.2.1 (F)(1) of the Fort Collins Land Use Code. Per Division 3.2.1 (D)(5) Reduced Minimum Sizes for Affordable Housing Projects. In any affordable housing project, the following minimum sizes shall be required: Canopy Shade Tree 1.0” caliper container or equivalent, Evergreen Tree 4.0’ height container or equivalent, Ornamental Tree 1.0” caliper container or equivalent, Shrubs 1 gallon, Canopy Shade Tree as a street tree on a Local or Collector street only 1.25” caliper container or equivalent.
