Please address the status of this previous comment. I was not working for the City of Fort Collins
ForestryDivision at this time and Tim Buchanan has since retired, so I cannot ask him about the history
of this specific question.
6/25/2014.
Thank you for arranging the first tree evaluation meeting. Please set up a second onsite meeting with
the City Forester to complete the tree inventory and mitigation plan. As part of that meeting, some
further review of the north-most Ash on Mason can occur to consider desirability of removal or
retention. Initial discussion at the first meeting indicated the tree would be removed but some further
discussion could be beneficial in making a final determination.

and acceptance by the City of Fort Collins Forestry Division. All City street trees in the project must be
established, of an approved species and of acceptable condition prior to acceptance.

Thank you for adding the following note which has been included under the tree protection notes. Since
it fits better as a plant note, please move it to the plant notes.

Thank you for providing 33 mitigation trees to meet the requirement. Please upsize mitigation trees as
follows:
Canopy shade trees: 3.0" caliper balled and burlapped
Ornamental trees: 2.5" caliper balled and burlapped
Evergreen trees: 8' height balled and burlapped
In addition, please indicate mitigation trees with an "M" next to the trees on the landscape plans.

For final landscape plan, include 22 upsized mitigation trees. Mitigation trees should be upsized as
follows:
Canopy shade trees: 3.0 inch caliper
Ornamental trees: 2.5 inch caliper
Evergreen trees: 8 feet height

Lindens do not typically survive or thrive in parking lot islands and medians. Please use another species
in places where Lindens are shown in the parking lot, such as Kentucky Coffetree or Catalpa.

Please use the most current City of Fort Collins General Landscape Notes,Tree Protection Notes, and
Street Tree notes on the plans, and show the street tree permit note on all landscape sheets to
emphasize importance.These notes are available from Molly Roche in City Forestry
(mroche@fcgov.com).

Show location of any stop signs and street lights. Identify these fixtures with a distinct symbol.Space
trees if needed as follows.
Stop Signs: 20 feet from sign
Street Light:40 feet for canopy shade trees and 15 feet for ornamental trees
