Re: 1989 Elementary School
Joe:
Since the developer of the Sunstone Village P.U.D. went through the planning
and zoning review process and has indicated the possibility of a school site
in his development, we are not sure what further process the City may want
to follow on this particular project.
The general location and land purchase for this school was discussed during
several public school board meetings over the last year. The school plan
and site plan, including landscaping and parking, will be the same or very
similar to that utilized for Werner (1987) Elementary and Johnson (1988)
Elementary. The exterior construction will be masonry and was reviewed and
approved by the Board of Education during its January 25, 1988 meeting. The
request for approval of the construction documents is anticipated for the
April 11, 1988 Board of Education meeting.
Our primary questions and concerns from the public usually center around
bussing vs walk-in and attendance boundaries. The district policies and
planning to address these issues are usually handled via existing channels
such as the P.T.O. and Boundary Committee.
However, we would like to offer to proceed with the planning review
process we have used before if you you feel that it would be beneficial.
By copy of this letter we will ask the Architect, Bill McCaffrey at WJM
Associates, to contact you regarding submittals of plans and scheduling
meetings.
Sincerely,
