PARKS -
WOULD
PREFER TO
HAVE SOME
AREAS OF
ORGANIC
MULCH SO
THERE IS
MORE OF A
BALANCE. WE
WOULD ALSO
LIKE TO SEE
LARGER
COBBLES ON
INTERIOR OF
MEDIANS.
GENERAL:
1. THE CHARACHTER OF THESE MEDIANS IS NOT ALIGNED WITH THE STANDARDS IN THAT THE LOOK AND
FEEL OF THE DESIGN IS VERY MODERN. PARKS AVOIDS A MINIMALIST LOOK IN ORDER TO HIDE
MAINTENANCE ISSUES (WEEDS, UNPRUNED SHRUBS/PERENS. ETC.) SO THAT WE DON'T GET COMPLAINTS.
PLEASE DISCUSS WITH PARKS, PETE WRAY AND CLARK MAPES.
2. PLEASE INCORPORATE ORGANIC MULCH INTO THE PLANS. ROCK MULCH CAN GET OVERWHELMINGLY
WEEDY AND IS DIFFICULT TO WALK ON.
3. PLANT LIST COMMENTS.
4. ADD 6 INCH MOW STRIP/HEADER BETWEEN CRUSHER FINES AREAS AND ADJACENT MULCHES. PLEASE DO
NOT SPEC STEEL/METAL EDGING
PLEASE ADD A
6INCH
CONCRETE
MOW STRIP
BETWEEN
CRUSHER
FINES AND
OTHER KINDS.
1. DISCUSSED WITH CLARK ALSO. SOME RECOMMENDATIONS MADE FOR REVISIONS. CLARK WAS OK WITH AND
LIKED SOME OF THE STRUCTURE PROVIDED IN THE GROUND PLANE FORMS. WOULD LIKE TO FURTHER REVIEW
GROUND PLANE TREATMENT WITH PARKS.
2. AGREED - WOULD LIKE TO REVIEW AN UPDATED APPROACH WITH PARKS.
3. SEE QUESTIONS AND NOTES. STRUGGLING TO FIND PLANTS THAT ARE LOW AND NARROW ENOUGH TO WORK IN
TIGHT MEDIAN SPACES.
4. CLARK RECOMMENDED LARGE COBBLE EDGE - WOULD LIKE TO DISCUSS FURTHER WITH PARKS.
CURRENT INTENT IS SINGLE CURB. ONLY
DOUBLE CURB IS AT ENDS OF MEDIANS
FACING ROUNDABOUT - THIS IS NOT DRAWN
CORRECTLY ON CURRENT PLANS.
NOTED - SEE RECOMMENDED GENERAL
REVISIONS. WOULD ALSO LIKE TO CONFIRM
IF THERE IS A PREFERENCE FOR MULCH
TYPES AT SPECIFIC PLANT TYPES - IE:
WOOD MULCH AT PERENNIALS
WOULD A 4" CURB BE
CONSIDERED?
CONCERNED OVER

3-6" TAN RIVER COBBLE
