HomeMy WebLinkAboutHORSETOOTH WEST MASTER PLAN - 14-88 - CORRESPONDENCE - CITIZEN COMMUNICATION (3)April 21, 1988
Fort Collins City Planning and Zoning Board
As I am unable to attend the meeting Monday, the 25th due to a
conflict at Foothills Gatewag, I am submitting this letter.
This is in regard to the proposed development Horsetooth West
PUD.
We purchased our home here on Primrose 8 years ago. We were then
attracted by the rural setting, the undesctibable view of Horsef6
tooth, and the lack of development. We have watched the growth
of Rossborough and seen The Crossroads Shopping Center construc-
ted. We now have a view to the rear of our house, across wonder-
ful open fields, of a liquor store.
I am very much opposed to further development and increased traf-
fic in our area. Had we decided to be a Dart of the hustle and
bustle of town, we would have purchased a come within %he city
limits, say on the "East Side".
I see no need for another shopping center. The two on the inter-
section of Drake and Shields are not yet filled to capacity. I
do not want to see another open field fall to multi -level apart-
ments, when there are so many rentals available and not filled to
capacity now. I do understand the growing needs of Poudre R-1
and the burdens of existing schools. I would not like to see a
school built in my neighborhood, but object least to this part
of the proposal, because there is a proven need.
