meeting planned for item number 1L-88, Horsetooth West Master 73-an.
?,Te have a neighborhoodshopping center at the corner of Drake
and Taft Hill and another one at the corner of Tjorsetooth and Taft
Hill (JIF). We do not need one any closer..we ire in a housing area.,
residential..not business. If we wanted to be in a business area
we would. have built our house in one. '^Te are a small rural housing
group enjoying not being city- ruled..we are county . This area can
not afford any more houses built one after the other. Houses built
on not less than 3t an acre would. be more tolerable.
Mentioning a school possibay being built is a great way to get
people interested and sell more houses to people in the area..bi-t
what happens )is they build up the area so much that the people
within walking distance get screwd..there kids get bussed to another
school 5 miles across town. of course we all know this all depends
on the outcome of the nroberty tax electiont!
Then if all this wouldn't be bad enough the city will want to
annex all of the restof us. If I wanted to live in a city
atmosphere I would. We chose to live in a rural setting..so we could
have animals or whatever we wanted on our "property and not be
worried about obeying city codes.
one othert- thing we were told when we built our house that
Milfred la.ng would never be a through street and we expect to
always have it stay a dead end street. Jim Scavo mentioned when
we built our house that..if houses were ever built in that space
they would be on large lots..'- acre or move.
I really think you should seriously consider this before
proceeding any further.
'.rhen wewere growing up in this town the standard �o�;e was..you
could never run out of gas..there was a. gas station$ on every corner!!
Now..there is a shopping center on every corner. mhe city of Fort Collins
is really making it hard. on an entrepeuner to make a O@QWA living.
It is less than a mile to Drake Crossing Shonning center..or to JIF.
-[,That more could nepple want? The shobning center at Horsetooth and
Shields I notice is still empty..just cl?.rb and gutter and paved streets!
raybe neonle are looking to the future..but right now in Fort Collins
things are slow.
