The Core Spaces Tree Mitigation Plan was coordinated with and completed under the direction of the City Forester, with all remaining on-site trees assessed regarding their location, species, protect or remove status, size, condition, and mitigation value. As depicted in the Tree Mitigation Plan, there were a total of 15 trees on-site, with no trees within the existing Public ROW. 5 on- site trees are marked for removal, with the remaining to be protected in place. Trees #6, #7, and #8 are dead and within close proximity to the existing neighbors’ privacy fence. Due to the condition and location of these trees, they will be removed and are not required to be mitigated. Tree #13 lies within the proposed Public Right of Way to be dedicated and will be removed and mitigated on-site. The tree is 36” diameter breast height, so relocation would not be advisable. Tree # 15 is a tight grouping of trees which lies within close proximity of proposed site elements such as walks and buildings. The grouping is in poor condition, so relocation is not advised. This tree grouping will be removed and mitigated on-site. A detailed table containing additional information for each tree being protected or removed can be found on the Tree Mitigation Plan included with this submittal. For the 2 trees that are to be removed and which have been deemed by the City Forester as providing significant community value, replacement mitigation trees will be provided by providing additional trees within the public-right-of-way and/or within the private open tracts within the proposed development per Division 3.2.1(F). Trees marked for removal that have also been measured by City Forestry and found to be under the required Diameter at Breast Height are not required to be mitigated, per Division 3.2.1(F)(2) - these are primarily the wild clumps found along the fence- line. We appreciate your time and consideration of the proposed Tree Removal and Mitigation Plan and look forward to receiving a response from the city. Kim S.
