RE: Fort Collins Nissan-Kia Project Development Plan
The following trees are proposed to be removed and mitigated at the Fort Collins Nissan-Kia property
located at the intersection of South College Avenue and Crestridge Drive.
The site will include 17.5 mitigation trees as required by the City Forester and Fort Collins Municipal
Code. There were several Siberian Elms on the north side of the property that have died and are no
longer on the site. These trees have been removed from the existing tree inventory.
Please refer to the tree exhibit on landscape sheet LS08 that correspond to this list.
1. #1- Cottonwood (7”) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 1, fair minus condition. This tree is
proposed for removal due to conflicts with the grading of the proposed bioretention area.
2. #2- Cottonwood (17”) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 0, 50% dead condition. This tree
was evaluated during an on-site meeting with Forestry. It was determined that due to
condition of the tree that it was best to remove.
3. #3- Cottonwood (12”-13”, 3-stem) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 0, poor condition.
This tree was evaluated during an on-site meeting with Forestry. It was determined that
due to condition of the tree that it was best to remove.
4. #4- Green ash (7”,4”,10”,13” cluster) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 1.5, fair minus
condition. This tree is proposed for removal due to conflicts with the grading of the
proposed bioretention area.
5. #5- Green ash (<4” cluster) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 0, poor condition. This tree
was evaluated during an on-site meeting with Forestry. It was determined that due to
condition of the tree that it was best to remove.
6. #6- Green ash (2”-8” cluster) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 1.5, fair plus condition.
This tree is proposed for removal due to conflicts with the grading of the proposed
bioretention area.
7. #7- Chokecherry (multi-stem) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 2, fair condition. This
tree is proposed for removal due to conflicts with the grading of the proposed bioretention
area.
8. #9- Green ash (2”-5” cluster) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 0, fair condition. This tree
is proposed for removal due to conflicts with proposed storm drainage.
9. #12- Cottonwood (4”) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 0, fair condition. This tree is
proposed for removal due to conflict with proposed storm pipe.
10. #14- Pinyon Pine (16”) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 2, fair plus condition. This tree
is proposed for removal due to conflicts with new parking area.
11. #15- Cottonwood (10”,10”) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 0, fair condition. This tree is
proposed for removal due to conflicts with proposed storm drainage.
12. #16- Pinyon Pine (15”) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 2, good condition. This tree is
proposed for removal due to conflicts with new parking area.
13. #18- Pinyon Pine (5”-9”, 4 stem) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 0.5, poor condition.
This tree is proposed for removal due to conflicts with new parking area.
14. #19- Green Ash (<6”) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 0, poor condition. This tree is
proposed for removal due to condition of the tree.
15. #20- Cottonwood (3”) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 0, fair minus condition. This tree
is proposed for removal due to conflicts with future pedestrian walkway along Venus
Avenue.
16. #21- Cottonwood (7”) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 1, fair minus condition. This tree
is proposed for removal due to grading conflicts.
17. #22- Cottonwood (7”) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 1, fair minus condition. This tree
is proposed for removal due to grading conflicts.
18. #23- Siberian Elm (5”-10” multi-stem) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 0, fair minus
condition. This tree is proposed for removal due to conflicts with new parking area.
19. #24- Siberian Elm (7”-12” multi-stem) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 2, fair minus
condition. This tree is proposed for removal due to conflicts with new parking area.
20. #25- Siberian Elm wild (15”) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 0, fair condition. This tree
is proposed for removal due to conflicts with new parking area.
21. #53- Russian Olive (<8”) – Remove, Mitigation Required: N/A. This tree is unable to be
mitigated due to size. This tree is proposed for removal due to grading conflicts.
22. #54- Russian Olive (<8”) – Remove, Mitigation Required: N/A. This tree is unable to be
mitigated due to size. This tree is proposed for removal due to grading conflicts.
23. #55- Russian Olive (22”, 18”) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 2, poor plus condition.
This tree is proposed for removal due to grading conflicts.
24. #56- Russian Olive (20”) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 1, poor condition. This tree is
proposed for removal due to grading conflicts.
25. #58- Russian Olive (<8”) – Remove, Mitigation Required: N/A. This tree is unable to be
mitigated due to size. This tree is proposed for removal due to proposed storm drainage.
