Boulder, CO 80301 303-530-0640 February 28, 2022 Tree Inventory at Canvas Credit Union Boulder Tree & Landscape Consulting February 28, 2022 I, Stef Ringgenberg of Boulder Tree & Landscape Consulting, was asked to perform a tree inventory at The Canvas Credit Union branch at 310 Meldrum St in Fort Collins, Colorado. I visited the site on February 28, 2022. There are 24 trees on the property. Ten of those are Green Ash (Fraxinus pennsylvanica), Five are Norway Maples (Acer platanoides), Two are American Elms (Ulmus americana), and there are one each of Swamp White Oak (Quercus bicolor), Rocky Mountain Juniper (Juniperus scopulorum), Aspen (Populus tremuloides), Siberian elm (Ulmus pumila), Sugar Maple (Acer saccharum), Kentucky Coffeetree ( Gymno- cladus dioicus), and Honeylocust (Gleditsia triacanthos). The ash trees were examined for the presence of Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) from the ground with a tele-photo lens on a camera. There were none of the characteristic D-shaped exit holes common to trees infested with the borer. There were no dead limbs or other symptoms of the decline caused by the borer. The trees were examined duing their winter dormancy. The lack of leaves and fruit on the dormant trees can make the identification of species difficult on some trees. Likewise, the observer has primarily the health of the buds to determine the health of the trees, and those can be difficult to see in the top of a large tree. It’s possible that there are health problems in the trees that could not be seen. Overall, these are fairly large healthy trees. There were numerous limbs broken out of the trees, and some of those limbs were still on the ground below the trees. The Trees Tree #1 - A Swamp White Oak with a 15.5 inch diameter. This oak is a healthy tree. The only defect is a lower limb broken that was most likely injured by a large truck. Tree #2 - A Green Ash with a 30 inch diameter. There is a 3 inch diameter limb broken and hanging down in the tree. There is also a stub where about a 8 inch limb broke out of the tree. Tree #3 - A Green Ash with a 24.5 inch diameter. Tree #4 - A Green Ash with a 24 inch diameter. Tree #5 - A Green Ash with a 25 inch diameter. This tree has several broken limbs. Tree #6 - A Green Ash with a 17 inch diameter. This tree has several broken limbs. Tree #7 - A Green Ash with a 37 inch diameter. There is one limb broken and hanging down. Tree #8 - A Green Ash with a 34 inch diameter. Tree #9 - A Green Ash with a 34 inch diameter. This tree has bent over form. One limb is broken off this tree. Trees #3 thru Tree #5 from left to right Trees #5 thru Tree #7 from right to left Trees #8 and #9 from right to left Tree #11 - A small Norway Maple Tree #10 - A small Rocky Mountain Juniper with a 2 inch diameter. This tree is too shaded by the building and other trees. There are many dead limbs particularly on the lower half of the tree. Tree #11 - A Norway Maple with a 9.5 inch diameter. This tree has a major trunk wound and has been topped perhaps to remove dead limbs. Tree #12 - A Norway Maple with a 10 inch diameter. This tree has been topped perhaps to remove dead limbs. Tree #13 - An Aspen 6 inch diameter. This aspen is in decline with several dead limbs. Trees #14 and #15 are both American Elms with diameters of 33 inches. Both of these trees have been pruned recently and show large cuts presumably where dead limbs were removed. They both show discoloration from European Elm Scale. Tree #16 - A Green Ash with a 16 inch diame-ter. This is a female tree covered with the weed inducing seeds. All the lower limbs have been removed perhaps because they were dead. Tree #17 - No Tree. This tree is shown on the map I was given, but there is no tree there. Tree #18 - A Siberian elm with a diameter of 43 inches. This is a big old elm in the middle of the driveway. It’s healthy enough, but the tree has poor lopsided form. Trees #14 thru #16 from left to right Tree # 19 - A Kentucky Coffeetree with a diam-eter of 21 inches. This tree is in good health, but the main crotch is codominant. Tree #20 - A Green Ash with a diameter of 27 inches. This tree has a major trunk wound and a broken limb. Tree #21 - A small Sugar Maple with a diameter of 4 inches. There is a drip irrigation line that is too close to the trunk of this tree. Tree #22 - A Norway Maple with a 16 inch diam-eter. Tree #23 - A Norway Maple with a 17 inch diam-eter. There were dead limbs recently pruned out. Tree #24 - A Norway Maple with a 17 inch diam-eter. Tree #25 - A Honey Locust with 16 inch diameter. This is a nice tree. Tree #19 thru Tree #21 from left to right Trees #22 thru #24 from left to right Tree Inventory at the Canvas Credit Union 319 S Meldrum St. Ft.
