The design is proposing a fire access lane that extends 150 feet into the property. See the attached site plan. This access would consist of two 6’ wide concrete paths designed to support the necessary weight, with a 4’ path of grass-crete or cobble mulch between. Giving the fire access lane a total width of 16’. The path will terminate at large boulders as to identify where the lane ends. From the fire access lane, the furthest portion of the building is 150’. The proposed construction type is IV with an occupancy count of 6 people. There is proposed heavy timber wood on the exterior of the building. These external heavy timber wood beams and columns are connected to the one side of the building and projecting away from the building to create an exterior open-air space. These heavy timbers would be no less than 6” wide and 8” deep per (Table 2304.11). All other materials to be non-combustible. These columns are not structural to the building’s walls or roof. The walls would be made from a non-combustible steel stud assembly. The roof uses a metal decking and a non-combustible assembly for its support. Building Construction Type: IV Building Occupancy: Business (100 SF gross) Gross Square footage: 556 SF Occupancy Count: 6 Note: There are no immediate adjacent structures to this restroom. Please let us know if the proposed alternative method to comply are acceptable. We are available for further discussion as needed. Thank you, Casey Roberts, AIA Casey.roberts@clarkenersen.com
