ITEMS:
The following comments regarding the I-L Administrative Site Plan for
the Hewlett-Packard Fort Collins Building 6 were discussed.
1. Joe Frank will use a legal description form one of the recently
submitted HP projects for his record.
2. The "State Access Code" was not in effect when the last site
improvements were made. This code provides the methods to
calculate lengths of acceleration and deacceleration lanes
depending upon the posted roadway speed.
3. The City is preparing an access plan for Harmony Road and will be
suggesting a 45 mph speed limit. This plan will be reviewed at an
October 24th planning and zoning public meeting. The plan might
be approved by mid -November. The speed limit will determine the
accel./deaccel. lane lengths at the HPFC site.
4. The City will install a traffic signal at the intersection of
Harmony Road and CR9. The signal and installation will be paid
for by the City of Fort Collins.
5. Double left turns from east to north at the Harmony/CR9
intersection as recommended for consideration by the City in the
John K. Crier/Colorado Division of Highways letter, will not be
built. This determination was made by the City Traffic Engineers.
6. The Harmony Road improvements at the HPFC site are as follows for
the two entrances:
a. Eastbound left turn lanes are to be lengthened.
b. The westbound deacceleration lanes are to be lengthened.

C. The lanes may be paved adequately now and paint re -stripping
may solve most of the new requirements. The lengths will be
determined after the Harmony access plan is approved.
7. The County Road 9 improvements at the HPFC site are as follows for
the one entrance:
a. The southbound left turn lane is to be constructed so that
thru traffic may not be impeded. This has been identified
as a present safety problem.
b. Michael Herzig will review the CR9 roadway design that was
done by HP approximately 8 years ago.
C. The widening of CR9 may be built so that it will fit the
future design of the four lane roadway. The costs of doing
this versus a temporary widening to be redone when the
fourlane is constructed will be reviewed by HPFC.
8. The 50 foot center to center dimension for 550 parking shown on
the site plan is a few feet short of City standards. Joe Frank
said that because we are adding on parking to a large site that
has the existing 50 foot dimension, changes will not be required.
Michael Herzig stated that the nature of employee parking would
allow this narrower dimension and that retail parking requires
more space for the constant entry and exit of cars. The existing
parking dimensions will be shown on the site plan.
9. Michael Herzig said he would draft an agreement for Bob Shuffler
to review regarding roadway improvements by the end of this week.
