Mr. Glenn Schlunder City of Fort Collins Stormwater Utility 235 Mathews P.O. Box 580 Fort Collins, CO 80525-0580 D L96L OW[E SEP - 7 1988 RE: Drainage for Amoco Station No. 5401, Elizabeth and Taft Hill Road Dear Glenn: In response to your comments on the drainage, I have prepared support calculations to show there is not an increase in run-off for this site. We are adding landscaping to a site that currently has no landscaping and we are, in fact, reducing the run-off. I have enclosed a copy of the survey showing the existing conditions. The curb and gutter proposed to be added to the existing pavement is concentrating approximately 0.05 Ac. of run-off into the southwest corner of the site. This amounts to approximately 0.35 cfs in the 100 year storm. This run-off currently sheet flows off the Amoco site to the shopping center parking lot located to the west. It is then picked up in an existing inlet located in the shopping center parking lot. The proposed run-off will still go to the existing parking lot inlet. The small amount of flow concentrated in the southwest corner of the site will have no adverse effect on the adjacent property and will not alter the existing flow path. In conclusion, our original request dated June 30, 1988 (copy enclosed) remains the same. If you have any further questions, please call. Sincerely, HOLLAND WEST, INC. &J, z4L Steven W. June 30, 1988 City of Fort Collins Engineering Department 300 LaPorte Ave. Fort Collins, CO 80522 RE: Amoco Station No. 5401, Elizabeth and Tafthill Road Dear Sirs: Amoco oil is in the process of rehabilitating the existing service station located at the southwest corner of Elizabeth and Tafthill Road. The remodeling consists of adding a carwash to the rear (west) of the existing building, and erecting a canopy over new pumps to be located in the same location as the existing pumps. As both of these new additions will be placed over areas of existing paving, no increase in runoff will be anticipated. In fact, approximately 16% of the site will be landscaped, which, as no landscaping currently exists, will reduce the expected runoff proportionately. The grades on the site will remain the same;- as the existing building will remain. Therefore we request that the normal storm drainage submittal requirements be waived, as the proposed construction does not impact the existing storm drainage. Sincerely, HOLLAND liB*,,INC. St*efv.
