Everett Avenue | Spokane, WA 99217 P: 509.489.5040 | F: 509.489.5044 | W: www.advfiresystems.net December 21, 2021 Dear Aaron, I have reviewed the preliminary set of drawings for the Enclave at Redwood project as requested to determine appropriate fire line sizes to each building. Several assumptions were made in determining a preliminary fire line size. First, during our phone conversation, I was told that a static pressure of approximately 105 PSI was available in the area. Second, (and the most important) is the assumption that the 4-plex, 6-plex, and 8-plex buildings will all be covered under the NFPA 13R code section. NFPA 13R will allow exclusion of sprinkler protection from combustible attic spaces and combustible concealed construction. Based on these assumptions, and review of the preliminary drawings, a minimum of a 2” internal diameter fire line is appropriate to supply the required 60 GPM necessary for the fire suppression system. This determination is based on preliminary drawings, and limited information. A full hydraulic calculation will need to be performed to determine the fire line sizing with certainty.
