This 1.5” tap and meter is to be sized to a 1.5" service pipe downstream of the meter. This 1.5" service line shall serve all domestic water use as well as irrigation needs via a separate 1” reduced pressure backflow preventer. Irrigation flow is not included in the total GPM design flow as it is expected that irrigation operation will be during off-hours usage. The chart below provides the pressure and flow calculations for the building and all calculations used are based on the AWWA M22 third edition method. Water meters shall comply with Jurisdictional Standards. The following fixtures have been accounted for in the calculation of the water service: There are no other plumbing fixtures to be accounted for in the building at this time. The AWWA combined fixture value is calculated at 313.2. Page 2 of 2 The 313.2 AWWA combined fixture value has been utilized in the following pressure and flow calculation: The 313.2 AWWA combined fixture value translates to 37 GPM flow. The total flow rate of 37 has been used in the water pressure and flow calculation above. The 16.45 value indicates the available pressure drop allowed within the building distribution to provide the Code required residual pressure at the building's plumbing fixtures.
