RE: Fort Collins Nissan-Kia Project Development Plan
The following trees are proposed to be removed and mitigated at the Fort Collins Nissan-Kia property
located at the intersection of South College Avenue and Crestridge Drive.
The site will include 13.5 mitigation trees as required by the City Forester and Fort Collins Municipal
Code. There were several Siberian Elms on the north side of the property that have died and are no
longer on the site. These trees have been removed from the existing tree inventory.
Please refer to the tree exhibit on landscape sheet LS07 that correspond to this list.
1. Cottonwood (7”) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 2, fair minus condition (#1 per tree
inventory plan). This tree is proposed for removal due to conflicts with the grading of the
proposed bioretention area.
2. Cottonwood (17”) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 0, 50% dead condition (#2 per tree
inventory plan. This tree was evaluated during an on-site meeting with Forestry. It was
determined that due to condition of the tree that it was best to remove.
3. Cottonwood (12”-13”, 3-stem) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 0, poor condition (#3 per
tree inventory plan). This tree was evaluated during an on-site meeting with Forestry. It
was determined that due to condition of the tree that it was best to remove.
4. Green ash (7”,4”,10”,13” grove) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 1.5, fair minus
condition (#4 per tree inventory plan). This tree is proposed for removal due to conflicts
with the grading of the proposed bioretention area.
5. Green ash (<4”, grove) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 0, poor condition (#5 per tree
inventory plan). This tree was evaluated during an on-site meeting with Forestry. It was
determined that due to condition of the tree that it was best to remove.
6. Green ash (2”-8”) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 1.5, fair condition (#6 per tree
inventory plan). This tree is proposed for removal due to conflicts with the grading of the
proposed bioretention area.
7. Chokecherry (multi-stem) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 2, fair condition (#7 per tree
inventory plan). This tree is proposed for removal due to conflicts with the grading of the
proposed bioretention area.
8. Juniper (2”) – Retain, poor condition (#8 per tree inventory plan). This tree does not
conflict with the development of the property.
9. Green ash (2”-5”) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 0, fair condition (#9 per tree
inventory plan). This tree is proposed for removal due to conflicts with proposed storm
drainage.
10. Russian Olive (clump) – Retain, fair condition (#10 per tree inventory plan). This tree
does not conflict with the development of the property.
11. Cottonwood (18”) – Retain, fair plus condition (#11 per tree inventory plan). This tree
does not conflict with the development of the property.
12. Cottonwood (4”) – Retain, fair condition (#12 per tree inventory plan). This tree does not
conflict with the development of the property.
13. Russian Olive (6”) – Retain, fair condition (#13 per tree inventory plan). This tree does
not conflict with the development of the property.
14. Pinyon Pine (16”) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 2, fair plus condition (#14 per tree
inventory plan). This tree is proposed for removal due to conflicts with new parking area.
15. Cottonwood (10”,10”) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 0, fair condition (#15 per tree
inventory plan). This tree is proposed for removal due to conflicts with proposed storm
drainage.
16. Pinyon Pine (15”) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 2, good condition (#16 per tree
inventory plan). This tree is proposed for removal due to conflicts with new parking area.
17. Russian Olive (6”-15”, qty 9) – Retain, fair minus condition (#17 per tree inventory plan).
This tree does not conflict with the development of the property.
18. Pinyon Pine (5”-9”, 4 stem) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 0.5, poor condition (#18
per tree inventory plan). This tree is proposed for removal due to conflicts with new
parking area.
19. Green Ash (<6”) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 0, poor condition (#19 per tree
inventory plan). This tree is proposed for removal due to condition of the tree.
20. Cottonwood – Remove, Mitigation Required: N/A, (#20 per tree inventory plan). This
tree needs to be evaluated with forestry. Mitigation information will be provided on future
submittal. This tree is proposed for removal due to conflicts with future pedestrian
walkway.
21. Cottonwood – Remove, Mitigation Required: N/A, (#21 per tree inventory plan). This
tree needs to be evaluated with forestry. Mitigation information will be provided on future
submittal. This tree is proposed for removal due to conflicts with realigned Venus Avenue.
22. Cottonwood – Remove, Mitigation Required: N/A, (#22 per tree inventory plan). This
tree needs to be evaluated with forestry. Mitigation information will be provided on future
submittal. This tree is proposed for removal due to conflicts with realigned Venus Avenue.
23. Siberian Elm (5”-10”) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 0, fair minus condition (#23 per
tree inventory plan). This tree is proposed for removal due to conflicts with new parking
area.
24. Siberian Elm (7”-12”) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 2, fair minus condition (#24 per
tree inventory plan). This tree is proposed for removal due to conflicts with new parking
area.
25. Siberian Elm wild (15”) – Remove, Mitigation Required: 0, fair condition (#25 per tree
inventory plan). This tree is proposed for removal due to conflicts with new parking area.
