The site is zoned I-L, Limited Industrial. The I-L Zoning District requires that a site plan be reviewed and approved by the Planning Director prior to the issuance of building permits. After submittal of the I-L application to the Planning Department, a decision is generally made by the Planning Director within approximately three weeks. During this time period, the site plan will be reviewed against City standards and requirements. Enclosed, for your information, is a copy of the section of the City Code pertaining to the I-L Zoning District. Also enclosed, is a copy of the statutory procedure by which a municipality may seek to reserve private property for possible future acquisition for public use. As discussed with you yesterday, the City staff intends to recommend to the Planning and Zoning Board and City Council that this mechanism be applied to that portion of your property shown on the attached map. The decision whether or not to actually pursue reserva- tion will be discretionary with the City Council. We trust this information is sufficient for your purposes.
