HomeMy WebLinkAboutNEW NOTE PARTNERSHIP FIRST ANNEXATION & ZONING - 5-89, A - CORRESPONDENCE - STAFF'S PROJECT COMMENTS (2)Utility :vices is Stormwater MEMORANDUM DATE: May 12, 1989 TO: Sherry Albertson -Clark, Senior City Planner FROM: Bob Smith, Stormwater Utility Manager 6,V RE: Newnote Annexation Comments Following are my comments on the Newnote Annexation. - 1st and 2nd sheets from Fox Meadows Master Plan -- Master plan identifies 40' open channel through the site (see attached) - Floodplain map, 3rd sheet shows floodplain limits and flood elevation for the site at these locations. (see attached) - To meet current floodplain regulations structures need to be flood proofed to an elevation of 18" above water surface elevation. Floodproofing equals elevating the structure, floodproofing of doors, entrances, etc. - Site drainage could go into lakes (existing) if adequate storage is available (outlet from H.P. also maybe included in this.) - Drainage crossing of Harmony unknown at this time. Preliminary design flows 4500 cfs. - Issue that needs to be addressed is definition of floodway, by 6" or 1' rise criteria. City = 6" Federal = 1' 235 Mathews • P.O.
