Zdenek 223 Linden Street #105 Ft. Collins, CO 80524 Dear Ed: • I would like to take this opportunity to clarify the transportation issues, in regards to the purposed Burger King development, at the intersection of Lemay and Riverside. At our meeting, on July 28th, the issues regarding traffic access and the streets surrounding this development were discussed. The issues, as we see them, are significant. At this time I believe that more information is needed to ultimately decide these questions. Detailed traffic operations information needs to be developed to clarify the questions of the impact of a full access on Lemay Avenue. The City is committed to providing adequate north -bound left turn stacking on Lemay Avenue. If this can be accomplished, and there is adequate space on the street for a south -bound left turn into this facility, we would look favorably on allowing that movement. Our primary concern is providing for the north -bound left turn movement on Lemay. In addition, the question of left turns out of this proposed access needs further analysis. Our position, to not allow the left turn out, is based on the traffic study that indicates these left turns will have a significant delay. Why provide a movement if it is only going to be frustrating, inefficient and possibly unsafe? I would ask that more information be developed to specifically address how the north -bound left turn on Lemay can be adequately handled and still allow for left turns into the site. In addition further analyses of the left turn out needs to be developed. Sincerely, hard L.
