Box 580 Fort Collins, CO 80524 RE: Riverbend Stables Dear Mr. Shepard: Since holiday plans will prevent Neighborhood meeting on the above to voice my opinion once again. DEC 2 61989 my attendance of the January 3rd subject, I am sending this letter As I told you in my letter of December 12th, I made the statement to friends, "I wonder what could happen to lower my property value more than it's already been lowered." I got the answer sooner than I thought in the form of the Riverbend Stables proposal, and I remain steadfast in my appeal that this project be stopped before it begins. Property values in Countryside Park have plummeted since I purchased my home over five years ago. Though I've tried several times to sell it, I can't even GIVE the place away. No one wants to live here. Now someone wants to build horse stables within 500 feet of my home. Yet another mark against our subdivision. Great. Stinky, smelly horse stables. NO THANKS! If the people who are proposing this project would like to buy my home from me for the loan balance, fine. Otherwise I will object STRONGLY to this proposal. There is no need to put horse stables within 500 feet of a community which is already suffering from low property values. I see no redeeming quality in having horse stables located so near my property. The odor alone would be unbearable, plus my property value is plummet even further. Thot:gh it's true some Countryside Park homeowners just "don't care", as evidenced by junk cars, etc. in vacant lots, some of us have a reason to want to keep the area decent ..... we HAVE to live there. I sympathize with the property owners, who are eagerly awaiting the completion/start of the Timberline Road extension, but what they want to do to our subdivision is uncalled for. • PLEASE ACCEPT THIS LETTER AS MY OFFICIAL "NO" VOTE TO THIS RIDICULOUS PROPOSAL.
