Walgreen Co. has always prided themselves as being the most innovative drugstore operator
within the United States & Puerto Rico by offering customers convenient free-standing locations.
One of the innovations that took shape in the mid- 1990's was drive-thru pharmacy service. The
drive-thru not only helps Walgreens keep a competitive operational advantage, but also allows
those customers with mobility problems or mother's with sick children in a car from having to
actually go into the location to pick up their prescription. In fact, 33% of Walgreen pharmacy
customers pick up their prescriptions at the drive-thru window, which is approximately 12
prescriptions/hour during peak times (3 pm — 7 pm). Operating with two drive-thrus helps to
decrease the wait times our customers experience as the first lane typically operates as the "pick-
up" lane while the second is the "drop-off' lane. The additional drive thru lane also reduces the
stacking that occurs especially during peak hours of operation.

As a retailer that makes three cents on the dollar, I e you to reconsider your position on
the drive-thru issue. Given the proximity to ospi a expect an influx of urgent care
pharmacy needs at this location and would like e the ability to serve the hospital needs as
