John,
The letter you requested is attached. As you can see, the proposed remedy offered by you and Interstate
Electric is acceptable. I'm sending the original letter to you by US Mail. Please contact me when the work
has been completed.
Thanks.
Peter

Ted and Peter — I have been working with Interstate Electric to remedy the
code violation on the Walgreens at 2268 E Harmony Road. As you may be aware,
a sale of the building was scheduled for December 28th and has been delayed
until the Buyer is comfortable that the building is within code. We
discussed the remedy for the violation a few weeks ago and Interstate
Electric is working on the resolution that is described below. Is it
possible for the Zoning department to send me a letter or e-mail explaining
that installing a shield to deflect the illumination provided by the North
sconce lights down and flush mounting the canopy lights will remedy the
violation? I would not ask if the property wasn't scheduled to close soon. I
am hoping that the letter will lead to a funds escrow amount based on this
scope of work. Please let me know if this would be possible. Thanks JM

Good Morning John,
I apologize for not bringing you up to speed yesterday, but I was waiting
for a couple of confirmations.
The north lights are Lithonia, and have an shield kit that installs on the
front to create a total down light - they are on their way to us from the
factory and should be here the first of the week.
The canopy lights are made especially for Walgreen, but our lighting rep
thinks he has located the manufacturer. If all goes as we expect we will
simply be able to change out the trims to totally flush.

Re: Walgreen lighting violation, 2268 E. Harmony Rd., Fort Collins, CO
Dear John:
This letter is a follow-up to a recent email that you sent me regarding the proposed
resolution of existing lighting violations at the Walgreen Drug Store located at 2268 E.
Harmony Road in Fort Collins.
The violations consist of non -down directional, non -shielded light fixtures on the north
wall of the building and under -canopy lights on the drive -through pharmacy canopy
which aren't flush mounted.
Your email explained that you intend to remedy the problem by installing a shield kit on
the north wall lights to create down -directional and shielded fixtures, and by changing
out the trim of the under -canopy fixtures in order to make them totally flush.
Please be advised that the above -described fixes will correct the code violations once
they are properly completed.
Feel free to'contact me if you need additional information regarding this matter.
Sincerely,
Peter Barnes
