Goal: Develop a building that responds to the natural features
of the landscape
2 Expressed entry with matching design elements
Goal: Utilize architecture to definee circulation and building
elements.
3 Contemporary use of traditional materials and metal accents
Goal: Use creative with builing forms that express the massing

heavy timber, metal accents, stone, deep rich color
Goal: Draw from regional architectural styles and materials

A Gradation of natural materials from light, at the ground, to dark

Goal: Utilize regional ‘natural’ materials the trend toward a
lighter base and darker top.
B Low sprawling plain with mountaineous background
Goal: Utilize low or flat roofs in the foregrorund mixed with
steeper pitched roof lines that define the main building block

Add dormers to break up monotonous roof line – vaulted ceilings in entry, exercise room
and great room
Extend the gable to cover the exit to the left side of the plan
Enhance the entry
Express the Chimney on the exterior with a metal chimney cap
Eliminate windows in the pool equipment room

Revise shed section of roof to have a flat roof appearance along the front of the building
