Box 580 Fort Collins, CO 80522 Attn: Joe Frank 2407 LAPORTE AVENUE FORT COLLINS, COLORADO 80521 PHONE 303-482-7420 ig Co. @ & Ell i, iL 4 U1 Re: Johnson (1988) Elementary/1990 Jr. High - sewer line extension Joe: Please share this information with the appropriate city departments. As you know, the school district had to construct over 1300 feet of sewer line to service Johnson Elementary. Approximately 300' is under Regency Dr. and Seneca St. and the other 1000' feet is across our property. The extension from this line to our west property line will involve another 570' feet of sewer being constructed. The city's suggestion of providing this sewer as a main service for the property located west of the district property and presently owned by G-T Land poses some problems for the district. The arrangement you have suggested would place the district in the sewer utility service business, which is a service business that the district does not wish to be in. The district does however have a proposal that will resolve the issue in what we believe is a more traditional approach within the city. The district would like to suggest that the portion of the line as indicated on the attached drawing be designated a city utility. Also, that one-half the cost of the construction of this line be re -paid at the time any portion of the property adjacent to the district's west property line is developed or at such time additional sewer extensions are connected. The estimated cost of the sewer line indicated is $40,000.00. Also, please note that the district would grant a 15' easement for the sewer line at no cost. This easement would probably be valued at $5,000.00 - $10,000.00. If the city supports this proposal in concept, then further actions can be taken as needed. Of course, this proposal is tentative pending approval by the Board of Education. Please contact us if you need additional information. Sincerely, POUDRE SCHOOL DI TRICT R-1 c. Jim Law George G.
