SHRUBS
The selected shrubs will provide a visual buffer
between the fencing and other land uses. The shrubs
will be native species and promote pollinator species
presence.
1
Artemesia tridentata - Big Sage Brush Drought Tolerant, Native Species, 4'
Mature Height, Retains Leaf Year Round
2
Chrysothamnus nauseosus - Rabbit Brush Flowering, Drought Tolerant, Native
Species, 3' Mature Height, Pollinator
Friendly
FLOWERS/GRASSES
The selected flowers and grasses will provide a visual
interest year round between the fencing and other land
uses. The flowers will be native species and promote
pollinator species presence.
1
Helianthus Annuus - Sunflower Drought Tolerant, Native Species, 9'
Mature Height, Yellow Flower, Mimics the
Purpose of the Solar Array to Harvest
Sun's Radiance.
2
Achilea Millefolium - Yarrow Flowering, Drought Tolerant, Native
Species, 3' Mature Height, Pollinator
Friendly
3
Linum Lewisii - Blue Flax Flowering, Drought Tolerant, Native
Species, 18'' Mature Height, Pollinator
Friendly, Easy and Quick to Establish
TURF GRASSES
The selected grasses will provide a low turf growing grass
that is able to push out invasive species and limit
maintenance.
1
Buchloe dactyloides - Buffalograss Drought Tolerant, Native Species, 6" Mature
Height, Retains Leaf Year Round. Larval host
for grasshoppers. Forms dense sod to prevent
erosion.
2
Critesion pusillum - Little Barley Drought Tolerant, Native Species, 1' Mature
Height
3
Chondrosium gracile - Blue Grama Drought Tolerant, Native Species, 1' Mature
Height
Establishment/Irrigation Plan
Current Parcel has drip irrigation near existing shrubs and
trees. The parcel has a natural slope down towards the
floodway. The installed irrigation has created small wetland
habitat; therefore, there is plenty of water to establish drought
tolerant species without any upgrades to the site’s irrigation.
Maitenance Plan
The solar array will need to be checked on twice a year by
Sandbox Solar in order to continue it’s profitable function and
maintain SP3 requirements. A part of Sandbox Solar’s
operation and maintenance plan will be to cut unwanted
vegetation and water plants to assist in establishment.
MODULES WILL BE ELECTRICALLY
CONNECTED WITH DC TO AC POWER
INVERTERS AND INTERCONNECTED TO
THE LOCAL UTILITY USING MEAN AND
METHODS CONSISTENT WITH THE RULES
ENFORCED BY THE LOCAL UTILITY AND
PERMITTING JURISDICTION. THE ENERGY
WILL BE SOLD TO THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS VIA THE SOLAR POWER
