Subject: Development on Laporte
Bill,
Per your request, this email is a follow up to our conversation on 2/11/19
regarding the
planned development across and from Poudre High School on Laporte Avenue.
Currently, the Route 9 services Laporte to Overland and the Route 92 stops once per
day
(eastbound) at Poudre High School. The future transit map in the DRAFT Transit
Master
Plan (TMP), anticipated to be adopted in Spring 2019, identifies the portion of
Laporte
west of Taft Hill as an Innovation Zone. This means that fixed‐route service could
eventually be replaced by an on‐demand service. At this time, there is no projected
date
to change service on Laporte.
The City of Fort Collins is not requiring a bus stop to be built at the time of the
development. However, if there is a future need, the City wants to reserve the
right to
build a bus stop adjacent to the development on Laporte that could support future
transit demand. This would likely be accomplished by building a pad in the
dedicated

right of way.
