Continued: An on-site meeting to receive tree inventory and mitigation information has not been
scheduled with City Forestry. City Forestry will not resolve BDR comments related to existing trees
until this information is received and included on the site plans. Please contact Forestry Specialist,
2
Molly Roche, to schedule this meeting – mroche@fcgov.com.
9/17/2018: Continued: Thank you for including the City of Fort Collins Tree Protection Notes. According
to the site plan, it appears that the proposed fiber line will be installed between
several existing trees on-site. Although no impacts are expected, please
schedule a meeting with City Forestry to obtain tree inventory and mitigation
information, which is to be included on the site plan. In the instance where the
fiber line trenches through and cuts existing tree roots, certain trees might not
be able to withstand the impacts of root loss or damage. Any questions, please
contact Molly Roche (mroche@fcgov.com).
7/9/2018: There appears to be existing trees on-site, and a few that are in close proximity
to the proposed wireless communications device. Please include the City of
Fort Collins tree protection notes to the site plan, which are available from City
Forestry or the project planner. In addition, please schedule an on-site meeting
to obtain tree inventory and mitigation information if there are any proposed or
expected impacts to existing trees.
TM-1 sheet added to include tree inventory

Light and Power acknowledges that this will require a new service.
09/18/2018: Light and Power has an existing 300kVA 277/480v transformer on
the property. Is the plan to add an additional meter for the proposed cell site? If
not, you can disregard the following:

Light and Power has a copy of a C-1 form. The C-1 form does not
currently reflect a 277/480 service that would need to be installed. Before
construction, we will need a complete C-1.
09/18/2018: Please provide a one line diagram and a C-1 form to Light and
Power Engineering. The C-1 form can be found at:

Due to Verizon running their own service to the transformer, we will
need the totality of our primary line as well as our transformer placed in a utility

City Forestry will provide the Development Review Coordinator with the updated tree inventory information. This table will include
species, diameter, condition, and appraised value for each tree. Please include this information on the site plan. Redlines provided
to show matching tree #s.

12/6/18:
City Forestry has reviewed the layout of the new fiber line and would like to request that this line be installed through boring
techniques. Forestry requests that the boring start near the right-of-way along Olive and then work toward the building. Working in
this direction will limit the impact of boring equipment and drilling near the tree closest to the building. In addition, the boring
should be done at a minimum of 48” or deeper to avoid all tree roots. Tree protection in the form of concrete blankets around tree
trunks should be installed prior to on-site construction.
Note added to TM-1

12/6/18:
The appraised values of each tree within proximity to the project is shown in the tree inventory table. Please add the following note
to the site plan, preferably below the tree inventory table: “Any damage to a tree as a direct result of this activity will result in fines
equal to $1,000 per inch of damaged area up to the total appraised value of each tree. If a tree is girdled 40% or higher, then the
full appraised value of the tree will be collected by City Forestry.”
