Algonquin Rd, Suite 250 Schaumburg, IL 60173 Date: May 21, 2018 Re: Hub on Campus, 1415 Elizabeth Street Design Variance Request Chad, At your request, we respectfully submit the below justification for the variance requests for placing the electrical meters within the building. Identify Issue: 1) The proposed electrical meters’ for each dwelling unit is shown on the electrical risers to be located within the building. Per Clause 8.1.1 of Electric Service Standards for City of Fort Collins Utilities, the location of meters and metering equipment are to be readily accessible as close to the street side of the structure as possible and are not to be in an enclosed or fenced area of the property. Justification: 1) For the residential building, per clause 8.1.2 the metering equipment for individual dwelling units cannot be placed on the exterior due to egress window wells and windows. 2) For the retail building placing the meters outside will interfere with traffic, sidewalks and driveways which would violate clause 8.1.2 of Electric Service meters.
