College Ave. Alternative Compliance Request The owner requests a modification of the standard per Section 2.8.2(H)(1)-The plan as submitted will promote the general purpose of the standard for which the modification is requested equally well or better than would a plan which complies with the standard for which a modification is requested. The standard per Section 3.2.2(K) states that a financial services building is permitted to have a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 3.5 parking spaces per 1,000 s.f. which is a minimum of 10 and a maxium of 18 parking spaces with the building’s size (5,000 s.f.). The proposed parking lot currently provides 25 spaces. This branch location will have 18 employees and will operate from 8:30am to 5:30 pm Monday through Friday and 9am to noon on Saturday. The owner is requesting this modification for the following reasons: 1. The credit union will be staffed with a minimum of 15 employees at any given time during hours of operation and fully staffed with all 18 employees on peak days (such as paydays after a holiday) and during peak hours in the afternoons, on Mondys and at the end of the week. The code maximum parking count allowed by code will not accomodate employees and members during these peak times. 2. With the approval of the proposed parking lot (additional 7 spaces), the location will be able to better serve the parking needs of both members and employees.
