MEMORANDUM

RE: Landmark Preservation Commission (Commission) Findings of Fact and Conclusions Pertaining to
the Utility Administration Building, 222 Laporte Avenue.
As provided for in Land Use Code Section 3.4.7(F)(6), in its consideration of the approval of plans for
properties containing or adjacent to sites, structure, objects or districts that are designated, eligible or
potentially eligible for designation on the National, and/or State Registers, and/or as a Local Landmark,
the decision maker shall receive and consider a written recommendation from the Landmark
Preservation Commission. This memorandum contains the Commission’s Findings of Facts and
Recommendation for this project.
1) The development project known as the Utility Administration Building is located adjacent to
several properties that have been determined to be individually eligible for local landmark
designation.
2) At its February 11, 2015 Regular Meeting, the Commission reviewed the development project
known as the Utility Administration Building, and as authorized under LUC Section 3.4.7(F)(6)
directed staff to provide the Decision Maker with a written recommendation of the Commission.
3) The Commission adopted the following recommendation at its February 11, 2015 Regular
Meeting, on a vote of 8-0: That the Landmark Preservation Commission recommend approval
of the designs of the Utility Customer Service Building at 222 Laporte Avenue as presented at
tonight’s meeting, finding that it complies with Chapter 14 of the Municipal Code and Section
3.4.7 of the Land Use Code.
