Re: Street Tree Management Plan for 310 S. College Avenue, Fort Collins, CO
To Whom It May Concern:
Proposed work at the above address consists of minimizing impact to the existing trees, and minimizing
effects on future tree growth. Proposed work strategy consists of:
Structural soil will be used under the sidewalk.
Fill material will consist of a lighter soil mix, and be placed away from the tree trunks as far as
possible.
Providing a cross section detail of the parkway where fill is to occur, with specified fill material,
and placement of structural soil under the sidewalk.
Irrigation for the trees should consist of at least 100 gallons of water per tree injected into the
soil. If no irrigation system is put in place, then the following irrigation needs are recommended:
Watering each tree in the summer months once a week for 3 months; Watering each tree every
other week in the spring and in the fall; Watering once a month in the winter.
Following is a 5-year Management Plan for the street trees located at 310 S. College Avenue, Fort Collins,
Colorado as recommended by Jordan’s Tree Moving & Maintenance, Inc.:
Construction clearing of trees completed prior to any work
Class II Prune (medium prune) at the end of construction, and before the end of the 5-year plan
Annual inspection of root systems and canopies to monitor potential die-back
Potential chemical or insecticide applications may be needed
A root aeriation system will be provided and inspected annually. A schematic will follow.
