Box 580 Fort Collins, CO 80522 Dear Ms. Livingston, The Church Security Department (CSD) recommends that a six-foot fence be installed on the front property line at the Fort Collins Temple site. CSD frequently consults on the security infrastructure at sites where Temples are constructed. Since each site has its own criteria for protection, we evaluate the security package on an individual basis. Based on fence designs at other Temple properties, and due to the history of incidents, we request approval to install a six-foot fence on the front property line. Perimeter fencing is a critical component of the total security package. The fence at Fort Collins will be used in concert with an electronic security system to provide early detection of trespassers when the building is closed. Installation of a six-foot fence enables the Church to provide the maximum level of protection possible without negatively impacting the visual features of the property. Due to the high net-worth of the asset, a six-foot fence is the minimum standard we would recommend. The design of the security fence at the Fort Collins site is very aesthetic. It allows the Church to benefit from the needed protection with a design that compliments the surrounding area. Since it is incorporated into the landscape, the visual appearance of the fence would be minimal. We would appreciate your favorable consideration of this request. Sincerely, 7~-~- Ryan Taylor Security Specialist
